If you're already a Goldie Kids customer, there's a good chance you found us through the All Season Wool Sleep Sack. It's been our hero product since the beginning, and it remains the core of what we do. But over the past year, we kept hearing the same question from parents in our community:
"What should my baby wear underneath the sleep sack?"
It's a great question — and honestly, it's one we'd been thinking about for a while. The sleep sack does an exceptional job of managing temperature from the outside. But the layer closest to your baby's skin matters too. And for parents who had already made the decision to choose natural, thermoregulating fabrics in their sleep sack, it made sense to offer the same quality at the base layer level.

Why Merino, Why Now
We spent considerable time on the fabric decision before launching the pyjamas. The case for merino wool as a base layer is exceptionally strong: it's the finest, softest form of wool available, sits comfortably against even the most sensitive skin, and provides the same dynamic thermoregulation at the skin level that our sleep sack provides at the outer layer.
For babies and toddlers, the combination creates what we think of as a complete sleep system. Merino at the skin. Canadian wool on the outside. Both fabrics actively managing temperature, moisture, and comfort throughout the night — so you don't have to.
How to Use Them Together
The most common pairing is straightforward: Merino Wool Pyjamas as the base layer, All Season Sleep Sack over the top. In warmer months or warmer rooms, the pyjamas alone may be all your child needs. In cooler months or cooler rooms, the combination provides exceptional warmth without the risk of overheating that comes with synthetic layering.
Because both fabrics thermoregulate independently, you don't need to think too hard about getting the combination exactly right. The fabrics do the adjusting for you. This is the difference between building a sleep environment around fixed insulation levels and building one around dynamic, responsive natural materials.

Beyond the Nursery
One thing we didn't fully anticipate when we launched the pyjamas is how many parents would use them as year-round base layers for outdoor activities. Slim-fitting and naturally warm, they layer easily under outdoor clothing and handle the transition from active to passive beautifully — staying warm when your toddler stops running around, and managing moisture when they're on the move. Several customers have told us they've become the most-used item in their child's wardrobe across all four seasons.
We're proud of what this new addition brings to the Goldie Kids lineup, and grateful to the customers who kept asking for it. As always, made in Canada, built to last.
